Bureau issues flood warning for Daly River, Katherine river returns to rise | Katherine Times

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a ‘moderate’ flood warning for the Daly River as upstream water starts to flow through. According to the Bureau, rainfall totals of up to 300mm have been recorded across the Daly River over the past week. The Bureau issued its initial warning at around 8.50am on Tuesday, as the river continues to rise, threatening to exceed the minor flood level of 12.6 metres on Wednesday night. “The Daly River Police Station is currently at 12.27 metres and rising,” the statement reads. “Upstream rivers have had multiple peaks during the past week and that water is now making its way through the lower Daly River. “The river level is likely to exceed the…
