THE Federal Government’s decision to give Santos’ Narrabri Gas Project the tick of approval has been slammed by NSW Farmers.
Federal Environment Minister Sussan Ley announced the controversial 850-gas well project had cleared the final approval hurdle on Tuesday.
“I am satisfied that the conditions, and the staged nature of work in the area, will safeguard the biodiversity of the Pilliga Forest,” Minister Ley said.
Santos managing director and CEO Kevin Gallagher said the conditions on the approval were consistent with those already set by the state government.
