Victorian dairy country hits the market | The Land

A large-scale and highly productive dairy portfolio located in Gippsland and the Western District of Victoria is being offered for sale.

CBRE Agribusiness is presenting the three properties – Tara, Melro and Tarraville.

Tara is a 713-hectare dairy property based in Warnambool, currently milking 870 cows and producing over 5.5 million litres of milk annually.

NCC Zorro heads to Elrose stud duties for $200,000 | North Queensland Register

As storms built to the west, bids thundered in to reach a top of $200,000 at the NCC Brahman sale on Tuesday.

The Jefferis family of Elrose Brahmans, Cloncurry, once again put their stamp on the sale, securing the top-priced sire prospect, NCC Zorro, early in the proceedings.

Sired by NCC Eli and out of Renco Raelene De Manso, the 23-month-old entered the ring at 862 kilograms, with an eye muscle area of 150 square centimetres and scrotal measurement of 38cm.

“All bone, beef and broad backline in a quality, stylish package”, the youngster boasted fat depths at the P8 and rib of 15mm and 11mm respectively, intramuscular fat of 5.4 per cent, and motility of 85pc.

New Acland Stage 3 rally calls for mine to be approved | North Queensland Register

DARLING Downs residents turned out in droves to support the expansion of the New Acland coal mine at the weekend.

About 400 people who turned up to the rally called for the state government to immediately approve the stage three expansion which would secure 500 jobs in the region.

LNP Senator Matt Canavan joined a ‘coal jobs convoy’ from central Queensland in support of the southern miners.

He demanded the state government approve the New Acland mine, which has been tied up in legal proceedings for a decade.

“It makes no sense that the Queensland Labor government won’t actually pick up a pen and approve the New Acland mine and guarantee these 500 jobs,” Mr Canavan said.

Hospital prepares for influx when Gorge Health closes | Katherine Times

The NT Government has been questioned again over emergency arrangements for Katherine with the closure of Gorge Health tomorrow. As the NT Primary Health Network has already stated, an interim health clinic is being established in the town, but they are still trying to recruit doctors for it.
